NORTH DAKOTA FARM NUMBERS DECREASE
The North Dakota Agricultural Statistics Service reported a total of 30,300 farms during
the year 2000, down 200 from the 30,500 farms in 1999. Land in farms totaled 39.4 million
acres, unchanged from 1999. The average size of farms increased to 1,300 acres, from 1,292
acres in 1999.
